Four family members were found dead on Wednesday morning, January 6, in their house in Ndundu village, Karura Ka Murimo in Kiambu county.
The victims were two primary-school-going children and their two parents.
The bodies were found a day after the family’s gardener was also found dead in a neighbouring compound.
According to witnesses, the gardener’s body had been cut into pieces with his head found outside the family’s house and the torso left in the neighbouring compound.
Locals in the area said those who saw the gardener’s body did not bother to check the inside of the house.
Homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have since been called in to investigate the case. Three other children from the family were at school at the time of the incident.
The brutal murder case has taken place just days after a couple and their three children were found dead in their house in Githurai, Nairobi.
