At least 10 pupils have been reported dead and 7 others have injuries after a fire outbreak burnt down a dormitory to ashes.
The fires broke out at Tanzania northwest region of Kagera at around 11 pm on Sunday. “The 10 victims were burnt beyond recognition and three of the of the 7 injured are in critical condition,” said the Regional Commissioner, Marco Gaguti.
The school is reported to be of boys only and the dormitory razed down accommodated 74 pupils.
Most pupils who were trapped in were rescued by police officers and Tanzania Fire and Rescue Force (TFRF).
The cause of the fire is still yet to be known as an investigation committee has been formed to probe the sad incident.
