The AMREF CEO has come out to talk regarding the number of COVID-19 cases being reported in the country. Dr Githinji Gitahi has told Kenyans that the increasing number is not something that should make Kenyans worried.
He claims according to them, this was expected and urges Kenyans not to worry about the surge but rather focus more on saving lives of others especially those that are found to be Covid-19 positive.
Dr Githnji Gitahi in his post also said we should be worried for the sake of the health workers who tend to put their lives in danger in the hope of saving others.
“Started with 1 case, then 960 a day! My message – don’t worry about cases as they will continue to rise (it’s the curve!); worry about our capacity to save lives of those who get severe disease because of various risks – worry about your local health facility & local health worker,” he tweeted.
He again tweeted urging Kenyans to keep on observing the laws passed on from the World Health Organization such as wearing face masks, sanitizing, avoiding crowded places and maintaining social distance.
