Nairobi county has become a political playground from disagreements between the metropolitan boss, General Badi and governor Mike Mbuvi sonko to the speaker Beatrice Elachi and Members of the county assembly.
Today at city hall wrangles erupted as members of the county assembly alleged to be allies to Governor mike Mbuvi sonko stormed the premises in an effort to serve the speaker with an impeachment letter.
The speaker was later issued with a suspension letter from Reinstated Nairobi County Assembly clerk Jacob Ngwele as she awaits the tabling of the impeachment motion.
The letter read;
“This Office, in compliance with the provisions of the said Section 11 of the Act and the Standing Orders, has undertaken a verification exercise for compliance of the Notice of Motion to the law and the Standing Orders of the Nairobi City County Assembly. I am satisfied that the Motion has met the required minimums for tabling under the Act,”
This came moments after the High Court quashed the appointment of Edward Gichana as the new Clerk, who was sworn in on Friday by Elachi.
