Confusion As Senator Irungu Kang’ata Distances Himself From Controversial Letter To President Uhuru

Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata, has distanced himself from the controversial letter that went viral addressing President Uhuru Kenyatta regarding Mount Kenya region’s stand on BBI on Jan 4 2021.

The alleged letter by Senate majority Whip Irungu was couched in terms of execution of the duty he owes his party.

In a tweet made by the legislator, he said the letter dated 30th Dec is authentic but was never issued it to the media houses.

“Kindly though the letter dated 30th December is authentic, I did not give it to the media. Someone else who had been copied did- I apologise for that. With the benefit of hindsight, I should have copied no one else. Trust substantive issues raised in the letter will be remedied,” read the tweet.

This came after a mixed reaction from both Jubilee and ODM party members who seemed to castigate the Senator’s actions.
