Demonstrators Demand Re-arrest Of Meru Pastor Accused Of Incest!

Hundreds of protesters took to the streets of Runogone Village in Imenti North, Meru county demanding a pastor accused of incest re-arrested.

The 61-year-old man who is identified as Jacob Kirema had been arrested on Thursday 26 August for sexually molesting one of his granddaughters.

North Imenti sub-county Police commander Robinson Mboloi confirmed the man was arrested last week after his 22-year-old granddaughter filed a charge with the police.

The 22-year-old girl was taken into safe custody after reporting the incident to the local authority purporting the man has been sexually molesting her since 2017.

However, the pastor is said to have been arraigned in court and released on cash bail. The locals took to the street demanding his re-arrest.

The protesters called on the government to take other two underage grandchildren into safe custody claiming there’s a deep-rooted wickedness in the home located on Kiathandi hill.
