Primary and Secondary schools are most likely to resume school in October if the Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha adopts the recommendations from COVID-19 education response committee.

In a report that has since emerged, it shows the committee had settled on Monday, 19 October 2020 as the preferred re-opening date countrywide.

It further urged the Ministry of Education to push KCSE and KCPE examinations to April 2021.

According to a publication by the Daily Nation it indicated CS Magoha had scheduled September 21 when the committee will table their findings to him.

The committee also recommended the school calendar be altered to begin in June 2021 as opposed to the usual January.

This means if the proposal will be adopted, the next academic year would either kick off in May or June.
