Kenyan content creator Elsa Majimbo has bagged an award from her role model, Lilly Singh, popularly known as Superwoman. The award was part of the annual YouTube Streamy Awards.
Majimbo was awarded the Best New Comedy Creator of 2020 after her trademark snappy remarks while wearing sunglasses and eating from a packet of chips went viral.
Singh, who admitted to being cracked up by Elsa, prepared a video card with a message to Elsa which she shipped to Kenya.
Lilly sent her a message saying she loved her videos and Majimbo responded noting that she got some of her jokes from her (Lilly’s) brand.
Singh stated that she was asked by Youtube to give the honor to an awardee of her choice, and she picked Majimbo.
“When I messaged you I was honored to learn that I inspired you. I remember when I was starting out I did not have a lot of equipment, resources or straight-up money. So Elsa, send me your PayPal information because I am going to personally support you with an equipment fund because I believe in you so much,” Singh stated in the card video.
