Tragedy has hit a family living in the outskirts of Eldoret Town, Uasin Gishu County after a fire broke out, killing three children aged 3, 4 and 7 years.
Reports indicate that the children had gone to Eldoret to visit their father when the unfortunate incident happened.
The grieving father remembered the unfortunate events that led to the demise of his three children.
“I was running some errands elsewhere when a relative rushed and notified me that my house was engulfed in flames. Upon reaching the scene, I found nearby residents who had rallied to put out the fire and try to rescue my three children but it was all in vain. Now I am left with nothing. I don’t know what to do,” the father said.
Another resident felt saddened for the father, stating that the residents were subjected to tough times, especially due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. They appealed to the government to cater for the children’s burial.
