On Wednesday, December 9,  fire destroyed several dormitories at Masara Mixed Secondary School in Suna West Sub-County.

The incident occurred late at night, with property of unknown value destroyed during the intense fire that ravaged the school premises.

The fire department took time to respond to the night fire, leaving nothing to be retrieved from the dormitories as students’ belongings burned down.

There were no mentions of casualties during the fire, as the students were in class for night preps when the fire broke out around 9:30 p.m.

As per the school administration, the fire destroyed dormitories that sheltered at least 113 students.

The learners were forced to spend the night in their classes after all their belongings had been destroyed by the night fire.

With only Form four students in school during the fire after the partial reopening in October, the institution confirmed that only 76 students were present at the time.
