Residents of Otamba in Kisii County are living in fear over the recent burning down of their churches and houses.
Otamba village in Nyaribari Chache area, has for the last one week been the centre of quite peculiar incidents.
Five churches have so far been set on fire in a span of just 4 days, with the residents indicating the activities usually occur between 1am and 3am.
The first incident happened on January 20 when St. Monica Church was burnt in the wee hours of the morning.
Barely a day later, three other worship centres; Seventh Day Adventist, Legio Maria and Worldwide Church also fell victim. The Pentecostal Church has now become the latest casualty being on Sunday January 24.
The strange thing is that the satisfaction of the said arsonists is seeing the alters of the church literally on fire.
