Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission has threatened governors against boycotting Nation Media Group (NMG) over published stories.
This warning comes a day after the COG threatened to avoid NMG from its list of advertising media houses after a story titled Eight Governors on Graft Hit List was published by Daily Nation.
In a letter sent to the Council of Governors, EACC boss has stated the move was inappropriate and offensive to relevant authorities.
“Any accounting officer or any other public officer who may proceed to implement such unlawful instructions will be held personally liable,” part of the letter reads.
On Wednesday 9 September, NMG had weighed into the matter blaming the CoG of intimidation and diminishing media freedoms.
