On Saturday, November 28, Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho opened up on his battle with Covid-19.
Kibicho spoke during a funeral service at Gathuthuini Primary School in Kirinyaga County when he revealed that he tested positive for Covid-19, received treatment and was discharged from the hospital.
“Those who are suffering from the disease should not worry because they will get well. Out of 100 people who contract it in Kenya, only two people survive,” Kibicho stated.
He also encouraged the residents to get tested so that they can be treated in good time in the event of a positive result.
Kibicho asked the residents to follow the protocols of the Ministry of Health, which include wearing masks, washing hands regularly and practicing social distancing, to minimize the spread of the disease.
“If I had the power, I would lock Nairobi during the festive season to curb the spread of the disease to rural areas,” he stated.
