Islamic Cleric Warns Ben Pol After Claims His Conversion To Islam Was Fake

A couple of days ago, it was reported that Tanzanian singer Ben Pol had converted from Christianity to Islam.

The reports were first made public by the singer himself after he shared a photo of himself in a kanzu, accompanied by a certificate to prove his conversion.

However, later on it emerged that the singer had not really converted to Islam but it was just a publicity stunt.

Confirmation that the singer had not converted to Islam was also made by his wife Anerlisa Muigai through their recent video.

Ben Pol’s game angered many people including Dar ES Salaam’s Chief Kadhi Sheikh Alhad who recently sent a strict warning to the singer.

The Sheikh started by defending Ben by saying it was Anerlisa who announced the singer had not converted and not the other way round, therefore making him innocent.

”We can not judge him if he is not the person who said he did not convert. If he had stated the words himself then we would judge him and it would mean he had gone back to Christianity,” Sheikh Alhad said.

He however, condemned the singer strongly if indeed he converted then went back to Christianity saying Ben will suffer for playing with religion.

He added that the singer could joke around with anything but not God and religion.

”However, I am warning him that jumping sides is a very big sin. You can not joke with other people’s religion. He can joke with anything else but not God and our religion,” Alhad added.
