Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni Wa Muchomba rushed to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to report that her life was in danger.
She alleged that there were individuals who sent her death threats on her social media accounts for her stand on the recently launched Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
The woman rep stated that those who threatened her were using coded language in their threatening messages.
“I am not taking the threats lightly, my life is in danger,” she stated.
Gathoni has since requested the Inspector General of Police Hillary Mutyambai to provide her with adequate security. The Woman Rep confirmed that one of the suspects was in custody after being charged in a court in Gatundu.
Wa Muchomba’s complaints comes just days after she was harassed by an angry mob in Githunguri, Kiambu County, for campaigning for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report.
The residents argued that they wanted development in the area, but were not willing to support the BBI.
