A woman believed to be from Tanzania was allegedly killed and buried in a shallow grave in Kirinyaga. Simon Murimi Wanjohi was found by his father digging a hole near his house. Being concerned the father asked what the pit was meant for but the son lied that it was a garbage pit.
The father alerted the area chief of Kieni Village in Kirinyaga Central Constituency when he found his son missing the following day and the hole covered.
Area residents uncovered the pit finding the woman’s dead body. According to Kirinyaga Central Sub-county Deputy County Commissioner Daniel Ndege, the suspect is said to be a rice dealer in Mwea as investigations are underway.
