A man in Kisumu snatched a Pistol from a Traffic Officer, shot 4 people randomly killing one of them before mob descended and lynched him to death.
The traffic police officer was manning the Jomo Kenyatta round about next to Kisumu Bus Park terminus on Friday 5th March.
The suspect approached the officer grabbed his firearm and ran away with it opening fire indiscriminately at the crowd.
The traffic officer was among the injured in the gun fiasco. He was rushed to Aga Khan hospital since he was shot in the stomach and is said to be in a critical condition.
The two other victims were a tout and a woman who were shot in the hand and thigh respectively.The suspect was wearing a hoodie and a face mask concealing his identity and was wearing gloves too.
The suspect’s body was taken to a nearby morgue as police officers launched an investigation into the traumatizing incident.
