Thika businessman Julius Gitau alias Gitau wa Mali found himself in the police investigation center after alleging to have been abducted for more than two months.
After recording a statement on Sunday, December 6 to explain his whereabouts after his 75-day abduction, the police began digging loose ends in his story.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are now expected to analyse the footage of his alleged abduction outside the offices of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) in Thika Town.
According to statements made by Gitau, he reported that he had been kidnapped by six gunmen in Thika town on Monday, September 21.
He added that two gunmen forced him to drive the vehicle to the Blue Post Hotel, where he was instructed to park and was switched to the small car.
The Gatanga Sub-County police have already contacted Thika KRA and the Blue Post Hotel to give them access to surveillance footage.
