The BET Awards is still happening this year with or without the Covid 19 pandemic ending. The organizers have come out to declare that the show will happen on 28th of June. They have promised to use “an array of innovative techniques and artist-generated content.”
The show which brings around the best international acts, both musicians and actors to converge and meet under the same roof has come with surprising acts. Drake has garnered over 9 nominations: Male Hip-Hop Artist and Video of the Year, while his “No Guidance” and “Life Is Good” tracks with Chris Brown and Future scored him mentions for Best Collaboration and Viewer’s Choice.
Rema, a Nigerian artist garnered a viewers choice nomination for the Best New International Act that is his first nomination on BET.
Burna Boy was also nominated for the second time after he won an award last year. This year he was nominated for ‘Best International Act’ against other singers and rappers like South Africa’s Sho Madjozi and Congo’s Innoss’B.
