The Office of Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has approved murder charges against Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa.
In October 2019, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa was linked to a fatal shooting after violence erupted during campaigns in Ganda Ward, Kilifi County.
It was suspected that at the time she stormed the conference, which was held to strategize on how ODM agents would conduct the mini-poll, and in the fracas that followed, an agent was shot and killed.
Jumwa pointed a finger towards the ODM Party in her response to the incident, claiming that it had played a role in the agent’s death.
“When I arrived at the event, I met a man named Agunga who claimed that I would not interfere with the event as the police were around. I don’t know what the police were doing in the area. I believe that ODM had a sinister motive as the campaign was over. ODM should be held responsible for the death of the deceased. I would advise my followers to be calm and stay in their houses,” she stated.
