Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen is a Kenyan lawyer and politician who serves as the Majority Leader of the Senate. He was elected Senator for Elgeyo-Marakwet County in 2013 on a URP ticket trouncing among other veteran politicians such as the late Nicholas Biwott. He was easily re-elected in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket beating former inspector General of police David Kimaiyo.
He, Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen is happily married to Gladys Wanjiru Kipchumba, with whom they are blessed with two sons and a daughter. Being a devout Christian he is a great believer in the centrality of the family unit.
Gladys Wanjiru Kipchumba, the politician’s wife whom little is known about in the political arena and even in the public eye not unless you are on the social media space, is frequently seen in praise of her husband, like recently on her Facebook page she was seen tagging her politician husband quoting the bible;
“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” ~ Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
