The Criminal Investigations Directorate (DCI) managed to track down and rescue a teenage son to a family in Sagana, Kirinyaga County who had been missing for seven months.

The DCI said the boy, identified as Muriithi, had ran away from his home in Sagana, which prompted the family to report.

Muriithi confessed to the detectives that his reason for fleeing was due to a family dispute. He had resorted to hawking pineapples in Sagana.

Netizens took Twitter to commend the detectives’ efforts to find the boy, mentioning that dispute resolution measures may have prevented the family discord.

“Kudos good people for making a family smile, and much more, making them realize the value of listening to each other. Muriithi could not have opted out had one of the family members been keen to give him an ear and a shoulder when he needed one. Keep it there,” read one tweet.
