The recent Infotrak survey has ranked Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr, who is serving his second term in the Senate, as the country’s best-performing senator.
The survey gave the Makueni Senator a score of 66.4% placing him ahead of his Senate colleagues.
Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen came second with a score of 58.8%.
Samburu Governor Steven Lelegwe was third with 57.2%, Kwale Senator Issa Juma Boy with 55.4% and Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala with 54.8% were fourth and fifth respectively.
Also in the last five worst-performing Senators include Wajir’s Abdulahi Ibrahim 39.1%, Nyandarua’s Mwangi Paul Githiomi 39.8%, Trans Nzoia’s Michael Mbito 39.9% and Kajiado’s Mpayeei Salau 40.1%.
Tana River Senator Wario Golich Juma as the worst-performing senator amongst the 47 elected lawmakers with a scored of 36.4%.
“The question we were asking the respondents is how they would rate the overall performance of their senators on a scale of 1-10, where one meant worst, and 10 the best,” Infotrak CEO Angela Ambitho explained.
