A number of residents within Nairobi who found themselves on the wrong side of the law will serve as street sweepers under the Nairobi Metropolitan Service (NMS).

The 57 who were caught flouting Covid-19 regulations and curfew hours were arraigned at the Kibera law court where they were released on a Community Service Order.

The group was reported to have been arrested at a popular city club, patronizing the facility long after the curfew hours.

On Monday, March 22, they were gathered and given instructions of where they would be working to pay for their mistake.

NMS, through the Directorate of Enforcement, will oversee their services at various facilities, streets in Nairobi.

The flouters will be deployed to various sites including cleaning up of Marikiti and Muthurua Markets, Globe Roundabout, and Nairobi River for the entire week.
