Rapper Octopizzo has sparked a heated debate online after bashing Kenyans for overwhelmingly supporting Tanzanian Singer Diamond Platnumz while ignoring their own artists like Otile Brown.
In a tweet, Octo argued that Kenyans on Twitter were busy drumming support for Diamond’s new song Featuring Koffi Olomide #Waah yet they can’t even promote their own artists.
“MFs out here Gassing Diamond but will not support Otile Brown. The Mediocrity on these platforms. Smh,” Octopizzo tweeted.
Octopizzo’s tweet sparked a heated debate among Kenyans, with some echoing his sentiments, while others arguing that music is a choice and everyone is free to support whoever they feel like.
This comes after Platnumz new song Featuring Koffi Olomide made history by hitting 1 million views in 8 hours and 2 million in 13 hours, making it the first video to achieve such a record in Sub-Saharan Africa.
