Isaack Kibet, the person under fake news claiming the cabinet secretary Fred Matiangi contracted coronavirus was arrested by the DCI on Saturday and arrainged in court on Monday.
The suspect was detained for two days to allow completion of the police probe and the matter was set for mention on Wednesday.
He was denied bail by the court on the basis he would jeopardise the investigation by tampering with his Facebook account and even interfering with witnesses that might be called upon his case.
His phone and laptop were recovered by police as evidence used for publication of the alleged news.
His defense team has termed the move as infringing on his rights as he was denied bail.
The CS pointed out he has so far undertaken three corona virus tests, adding that he would not hesitate to publicly announce his status should he contract the virus.
