President Uhuru Kenyatta Announces New Government Appointments

President Uhuru Kenyatta has revealed new appointments to various government parastatal boards.

In a special gazette notice dated February 23, Lewis Nguyi has been appointed as the chairman of the National Hospital Insurance (NHIF) Board who will serve in the capacity for a period of three years taking over from Hannah Muriithi.

Dr Daniel Mbinda Musyoka will take over the chairperson position of the board of Kenya Medical Research Institute (Kemri) from Naftali Agata whose appointment was revoked.

Safaricom’s Chief Financial Services Officer Sitoyo Lopokoi will be the chairperson of the board of the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH). He Hell take over from former Eldoret East legislator Joseph Lagat.

The changes came after a reshuffle of Chief Administrative Secretaries and Permanent Secretaries in Various Ministries.

Nine officials were sworn in during a ceremony at State House on February 19, including former Nairobi Speaker Beatrice Elachi who was appointed CAS in the Ministry of Public Service and Gender Affairs.
