Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko recently said that he has been banned from donating food to the poor amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Sonko did not give details of who stopped him from his philanthropic works but he made the announcement which he stated will stand until further notice.
While updating Nairobians on the ongoing fumigation exercise in various parts of the capital, the embattled governor said he would no longer give food to the needy and poor.
Kenyans were surprised on who would stop help from reaching the poor especially at a time of the COVID-19 pandemic when most people were having a hard time making ends meet.
Today Sonko took it upon himself through his organisation Sonko Rescue Team to distribute foodstuff and even tweeted about it captioning the president’s name while at it, and this what he noted
@SonkoRescueTeam as a recognized NGOwill donate foodstuffs to the people of Nairobi from Githogoro slums & Karura Ward. Let them come & arrest us. Punda sasa imechoka kama mbaya wacha iwe mbaya ata President Uhuru before akuwe Rais alipigwa teargas while defending hawkers in CBD
Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko recently termed interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho as a man whose aim is to ruin his political career.
Kenyans are still not fully aware of who is keeping the Nairobi governor in short leash but this would sound so selfish not letting the governor work for the people who elected him in this time of a pandemic.
