After the impeachment of former Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu just days later a section of the Nairobi county assembly members have called for the impeachment of governor Mike Sonko Mbuvi who was barred from accessing office.
Nairobi minority whip Peter Imwatok says Sonkos impeachment plan is top of the agenda of the house business when the Nairobi county assembly resumes from recess Instigating that they have the numbers to send Sonko packing.
A section of jubilee county Nairobi members lead by the majority leader of the house insist that there will be no impeachment and the signature attained by the minority leader are fake and are signatures collected from the recent Kamkunji meeting. The jubilee sect MCA insist that Sonko is still the governor of Nairobi and being barred from office doesn’t relinquish his roles as the head of Nairobi county.
With the sit of Nairobi county deputy governor being vacant and incase the governor is impeached it will render the county to be led by the speaker for sixty days till a small election is held.
