Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha on Monday 21 September gave teachers a one-week ultimatum as plan to resume school kick off.
The CS asked teachers to report back to school latest Monday September 28 after the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) CEO, Nancy Macharia gave a directive.
“The teachers can come latest next week, but if you love your school and live near there y0u can report starting from today. Due to delocalisation, it is still fine if you arrive on the 28th as the last date,” said CS Magoha.
He also clarified despite the stakeholders’ task force proposed schools to resume from October 19, a definite date had not been agreed on yet.
“The right person to give that information is not even myself. I will take the recommendations to the larger committee and if they agree, we will send it for concurrence to the person who will announce to you when the schools will reopen,” he added.
