A Kenyan Firm known as Technoservice has taken Nokia Ltd to court after Nokia breached a contract they had signed with them. The Kenyan firm is asking $1.38 million compensation which translates to close to Shs 150 million.

The firm claims that Nokia Ltd had sold its business to Microsoft Corporation back in 2014 while they still were in partnership.

They want the courts to issue a declaration of joint investment to prove that they were in partnership with Nokia.

Technoservice revealed that it was coerced into investing in the business through a deal that saw them establish Nokia care centres in the country.

Despite co-establishing the centres, Nokia later transferred the centres to Microsoft Corporation without Technoservice’s consent, they said.

They want Nokia Ltd to pay them that amount plus compensation for damages and loss of earnings in the 9 years that they had been in partnership with Nokia.

The law suit against Nokia has shown how the partnership between the two companies started and who signed the contract.
