A Toyota Land Cruiser V8 exploded into flames at Shelly Beach in Likoni, Mombasa County, on Tuesday, October 20th.
Investigations are still on going as the cause of the fire is yet to be established.
As seen on a video, the fire seems to have sparked from the engine before destroying the whole vehicle in flames.
The people in the car are believed to have escaped with minor injuries as the flames damaged the car.
Jane Munywoki, the Likoni Police Commander, said that the vehicle caught fire after getting stuck on the busy beach.
Before driving to the beach, motorists are have been advised to drive a 4-wheel drive vehicle, particularly on soft sand patches.
Drivers have been also been urged to lighten their load as much as possible before travelling to the beach because the heavier your vehicle is, the more it will sink in the sand.
Even when driving on the beach, drivers are advised to keep their speed low and avoid heavy braking to minimize the chances of being caught in the sand.
