A veteran KBC journalist Beatrice Kevogo, has passed away after being involved in a road accident in Migori County.
The popular radio producer died after a head-on collision between her car and a truck outside Rongo town.
Peter Okiring, Rongo Sub County Police Commander, confirmed the incident. He blamed the truck driver for his attempt to overtake another car along the Kisii-Migori road.
Eyewitnesses also accused the driver of over speeding. He rammed into Kevogo’s saloon car resulting in the death of the journalist and four other occupants who died before being rushed to the hospital.
The police boss disclosed that the three other people who succumbed included a church member and close relatives of the KBC gospel programs producer.
The bodies were taken to Rosewood Hospital mortuary in Rongo.
