The Wasafi TV has on Tuesday 5 Jan 2021 been banned for six months by the Tanzania Communication Regulatory Authority (TCRA) from airing.
It is alleged the media house violated broadcast regulations by airing an explicit Gigy Money show. The female singer is said to have been dancing at the Tumewasha festival while scantily dressed.
The ban will officially be as from Wednesday 6 January to July 6 2021. In a statement released during the press briefing by the TCRA, the authority claimed if the media house violates the rule issued, further actions will be taken.
The media house is owned by the famous Tanzanian artist Diamond Platinum. This comes months after Clouds Fm, was also banned for airing adult content.
