Arsenal sacked Gunnersaurus the club’s loyal mascot of 27 years, who once missed his brother’s wedding just to attend a game. The mascot is the lates victim of employees made redundant by the club due to Covid 19.

However, Mesut Ozil handed Arsenal a dilemma by offering to dip into his own pocket to keep the man inside their Gunnersaurus mascot costume in a job for as long he remains at the club.p

Celebrities Piers Morgan and Holly Willoughby urged Arsenal to reconsider their act of sacking Jerry Quy, who wears the mascot as he’s termed the most loyal gunner.

His position, which he carried out since Gunnersaurus was introduced in 1993, was deemed no longer essential with games currently being played behind closed doors and no fans in the stadiums to entertain.
