Man Dies In Matatu

On Tuesday evening, December 15, a man died in a Machakos-bound bus along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway, near Kibwezi township.

Travellers in the Public Service Vehicle (PSV) realized that the 68-year-old was motionless before asking the driver to stop the vehicle.

“Passengers had been asking the deceased to close the window when they discovered that he was motionless,” Ben Changulo, Kibwezi Sub-county Police Commander stated.

The body of the man was taken to Kibwezi Mortuary as health officials fumigated the bus.

Two similar deaths have been reported in the last month, one on Mombasa Road and the other on Mukaa near Malili City.

In the first case, the man was thought to have died of complications due to Covid-19, but his post-mortem findings were negative.

The second incident was a traveller who had been ill for a while and was on board with his sister.
