Police Shocked As Robbers Return Stolen Items.

Kibwezi Police Station officers were in a state of disbelief on Wednesday, September 16, when they witnessed a group of people lined up one after the other with stolen items in hand.

The lost items were reported to have been robbed after a lorry was involved in an accident the night before. Unexpected scenes were linked to the supposed fear of a mysterious curse.

Musembi Ngunga, the lorry driver, told the police that he had been attacked by thugs who were armed with axes.

“More than half the cargo was stolen and they destroyed what was left,” he revealed.

He further explained that the items in question belonged to Catholic priests, adding that he was tasked with presenting them to the clergy having travelled from Nairobi.

Local Catholics are said to have gone as far as announcing that they will hold special prayers to channel a strong curse on those involved in the heist.

A few hours later, local residents began walking in a single file into the local market.

For hours, the police watched as people they knew emerged from the villages carrying  gas cookers, chairs, mattresses, and different religious items.

Detectives who visited the scene were told by local elders to leave to avoid frightening the repentant villagers.
