Residents of Mwivona area in Marakusi sub-location, Kakamega county woke up on to a lifetime shock after a dead body of a man was found standing in a house under construction.
The body of the 30-year-old man was holding a torch. A woman who was going to fetch water from the nearby stream found the body of the deceased who was identified as Patrick Lukungu.
The assistant area chief Edith Khakali who confirmed the incident said the woman who was fetching water nearby rose an alarm after seeing the body and became suspicious.
The administrator further stated the woman moved closer only to discover the body had a rope round the neck and tied to the rafters.
The deceased’s father said he had been constructing the house with his son the previous day.
“We spent the day here constructing the house which I had decided to put up for him and he did not exhibit any sign of being disturbed,” he said.
He further said it was more shocking that the dead body was holding a torch in the hand. He appealed for investigation into the disturbing matter.
