Watch out ladies! You could end up balded by the hair products you use.

An American hair cleanser company that manufactures hair products has been sued for causing hair loss among the women using the hair product.

Wen, a hair care line by celebrity stylist Chaz Dean, has landed itself in the middle of a potential health controversy — over 200 women claim the products, which are marketed for their “natural” ingredients, have caused them to lose massive amounts of hair.

Consequently, the group of women have joined a class action lawsuit against the company and its owner, infomercial company Guthy-Renker. Some involved are parents representing their children, who they claim have lost hair as a result of using the products.

WEN, which has been endorsed by celebs like Brooke Shields and Alyssa Milano, has called itself “industry changing.” According to Wen’s website, its “cleansers include a perfect blend of special ingredients, including natural botanicals and herbs, and do not contain sodium laurel sulfate or harsh chemicals.”

However, chemists who were instructed by Amy Davis, lead council for the victims, to test WEN products found some alarmingly different results.

What we understand about the product and how it causes hair loss is it contains virtually no cleanser,” Davis told CBS DFW. “It’s like using lotion to wash your hair, so instead of removing the product, when you rinse it off, it just becomes impacted in your hair follicle.”
