All domestic flights between Nairobi and Mombasa will be suspended effective mid-day on Monday, March 27, 2021.
This is according to Kenya Airways Acting Chief Commercial Officer Julius Thairu, he said that flights between Nairobi and Kisumu will also be suspended on Monday at noon until further notice.
This follows the directive by President Uhuru Kenyatta in efforts to contain and minimize the spread of COVID-19 amid the rise of Covid-19 cases.
KQ added they have increased the number of scheduled flights until Monday mid-day, to address customers’ needs.
“We sincerely apologize to all our customers for the inconvenience and reiterate that our crew, staff, and country’s safety remains our priority,” said KQ.
Those affected have been advised to review their bookings for later travel or request a refund.
Captain Gilbert M. Kibe, Kenya Civil Aviation Authority Director General, said all domestic flights in the country will be halted effective Monday 29th March, 2021.
