Jay-Z and his wife Beyonce Knowles are being sued by a Jamaican artist named Dr. L’Antoinette Stines. The couple is accused of not giving her credit for contribution to their song ” Black Effect”.
The artist is suing them for copyright infringement, right of publicity and unjust enrichment. She also claims that she supplied dancers for a video meant to promote the couple’s album and tour.
She also added that allegedy the couple wanted to record her views on love that would be used in the video “for promotion Al purposes” only.
According to Stines, the couple’s project was released and featured her voice which was unauthorised, she said that it was exploitation oh her vocals on the song.
She says she was shocked to hear the song in the Caters’ Everything is love album as the first 60 minutes of the song is her voice.She also claims that she has not been paid a dime for her vocal work.
Stines’ voice was heard prominently in the track’s first minute as the Jamaican artist gave an impassioned explanation on how she views love.
