9-year-old Jacques Ndabaramiye and his 7-year-old brother Byicyaza, were reported to have gone missing on Sunday before their clothes were found in the dam on Monday.

Semaringa Jacques, their dad, said that the two had been left at home
with their siblings as they attended the Light of Hope International church service.
Upon returning from the church, he discovered that the children were lost, and he mobilized his neighbors to aid them in their search.

The Two brothers allegedly drowned in the shallow dam of Athi River, Mavoko Sub-County, on Sunday, October 4.

“We got to the dam and found their clothes and shoes on the banks, and they were afraid of the worst,” Said their dad.

The children are said to have been playing when they stumbled through the construction site and unintentionally fell into the dam.

Residents in the region urged the government, for what they called carelessness, to take action against the site management.

This incident come a moth after a Kinoo resident, Kiambu County, lost his two children who fell into a hole filled with water.
