Body of The Missing Businessman Bashir Mohamed Found in Kirinyagaga

The American-Kenyan based businessman Mohammed Bashir who was reported missing 10 days ago has been found dead in Mwea, Kirinyaga county.

Bashir was last spotted at Mialle Lounge in Lavington. He was later captured by the CCTV leaving Mialle Lounge in Lavington, Nairobi on Thursday, May 13.

The businessman was seen driving his high-end Range Rover vehicle with the registration number KCQ 007P which was later spotted burnt completely at Kibiko area in Kajiado county raising concerns of his whereabouts.

According to media reports, the remains of the Somali-American national were found at Kerugoya Level 5 Hospital in Kirinyaga on Saturday, March 23.

Through their lawyers, the family announced they had found the body and further reports also said he may have been tortured before death as he had panga cuts and two bullet wounds.

“It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bashir Mohamed Mohamud informs you that the body of Bashir was found earlier today at Kerugoya level 5 hospital,” read part of the statement.

The deceased’s family has also requested privacy as it mourns and prepares for the burial while also calling on the authorities to expedite the investigations.

“Even as Bashir rests, the family shall not rest until justice has been served and those responsible for his death brought to book,” it added.
