Willian Borges Da Silva recently posted an emotional farewell message for his Chelsea fans after his contract with the blues expired making him a free agent. Arsenal did not let the chance of signing the Brazilian winger slip them.
Willian spent 7 years in Chelsea since he joined the club from Anzhi Makhachkala in 2023. He made 339 appearances for the premier League, scoring 63 goals and registering 56 assists.
He featured 47 times in all competitions for Frank Lampard’s side in 2019-2020, netting 11 goals. He lifted two premier League tittles, won the Europa League, FA Cup and League Cup during his time at the blues.
Borges is considered a boost to Arteta’s team after the club convinced their Gabon striker Pierre Aubameyang to sign a new deal that will see him stay till 2023.
