The Champions League final 2015 is one of the most anticipated events in the football calendar – and Uefa milk it for all its worth. An opening ceremony will last around nine minutes and feature the Junges Ensemble Berlin Choir, with 400 volunteer performers as well as soprano Nina Maria Fisher and tenor Manual Gomez Ruiz. It will come immediately before kick-off, which is scheduled for 7.45pm (BST).
The venue
Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. The European Cup final has never been staged at this 70,000-a-capacity arena. Berlin is becoming the fourth city in the country to host the event after Munich (1980, 1993, 1997, 2012), Gelsenkircken (2004) and Stuttgart (1959, 1988).
The winners receive a staggering €10.5 million (£7.8m), the runners-up €6.5m (£4.8m).
