Chelsea edged out of Carabao cup after facing Tottenham Hotspurs

The blues had a fantastic display during the first half of the London derby match against Tottenham Hotspurs.

Timo Werner finally got his first Chelsea goal with a strike from outside the box leaving Hugo Lloris helpless in the 19th minute.

Chelsea lost a couple of clear chances that would have put them in a better position much earlier and sealed their victory with Mason Mount and Callum Hudson Odoi acting all selfish.

Eric Lamella got his equaliser after he scored in the 84th minute with an assist from Sergio Regulion forcing the match to end in a 1-1 draw.

The winner had to be found through a penalty shootout which Tottenham won 5-4 after Mason Mount wasted his chance of enabling Chelsea to proceed hence Tottenham qualified for the next round.
