Christiano Ronaldo is the second men’s player to reach 100 goals for his country Portugal after Iran’s Ali Daei who scored 109 times.

The former Real Madrid man hit the milestone a minute before half-time of Tuesday’s National League when Portugal faced Sweden, scoring a free kick.

It did not take long before the Juventus star hit 101st goal as the forward scored a strike from outside the box to seal Portugal’s victory in the 72nd minute.

It was his 57th goal from a direct free kick in his career and the 10th for Portugal. They are the defending champions of the Nation’s League tittle after they won inaugural competition 2019 slamming Netherlands 1-0 in the finals.

Ronaldo scored his goal at the age of at Euro 2004.He’s gone to be all the time top goal scorer passing the likes of Eusebio and Pauleta and has now more than doubled previous record holder Paupers who netted 47 times for the Selecao.
