Since the implementation of dusk to dawn curfew in March this year when Covid-19 first patient was confirmed, Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has said 15 people have been killed by police officers while 31 others injured.
Today Duncan Ndiema, a police officer who allegedly shot Yassin Moyo in Huruma estate, while standing at the balcony of their home was arraigned in court and charged with murder.
Duncan Ndiema was charged by the(DPP) Director of Public Prosecution after he was arrested on June second. Mr Ndiema’s plea was to be heard two days ago but speculation of him contracting COVID-19 forced the rescheduling of his mention.
The police officer tested negative of COVID-19 yesterday hence today he was charged with murder where he pleaded not guilty. Currently he will be held at the capitol hill police station as he waits for his case proceedings.
