A family in Elburgon is seeking help from government to retrieve their daughter’s body from Saudi Arabia.
Alice Awour was employed as a domestic worker in Saudi Arabia according to her family. Before leaving Kenya, she never revealed her destination but told the parents her agent would contact them.
Her miseries began when she would call her family, informing them of the mistreatment she received from her employer.
Later, the family received a heartbreaking news. Their daughter was no more.
“They said Alice went to sleep and never woke up.” Said the father.
The family has been trying to contact the employment agency in vain. They are now requesting the government to intervene and get the body, so as to give her a decent send off.
The deceased is said to have left behind two kids and a family that depended on her.
