Officers from the Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) interrupted a mission in Garissa to respond to an emergency after a car ferrying miraa overturned.

The Toyota pick-up, which was loaded with packs of khat, lost its balance along the Garissa-Hola road and overturned just a few meters ahead of the KDF caravan.

The soldiers quickly swung into action and rescued the driver of the pickup and safely lifted it off the ground.

KDF, through its official Twitter account, noted that the soldiers’ response was immediate.

“Blessed Sunday! Sometimes, help appears instantly. Kenya Army troops en route to other duties along the Garissa -Hola Road saw this civilian vehicle that had overturned along the road. They stopped and successfully recovered the civilian vehicle,” tweeted the forces.

The post drew mixed reactions from netizens who had a glimpse of the incident. Although the majority commended the officers, some asked why they were saving a car that was deliberately overloaded.
